Sandra Barnes has lived in South Northamptonshire for over 30 years.

Councillor Barnes was Leader of South Northamptonshire Council from 1999 to 2010, Chairman of the Cabinet from 2001 to 2010, and is ward member for Tove, a position she has held since 1995.

Sandra has had a long-standing interest and commitment to the Health Service and is currently a non-executive director of the Daventry and South Northants Primary Care Trust where she chairs the Audit Committee and is involved in Primary Care Development and Clinical Governance.

She had been Chairman of her local Primary School for the past 4 years and is now the Vice Chairman, she has also served as a Parish Councillor.
