Local people invited to have their say on key Daventry development
West Northamptonshire Development Corporation has received a planning application from Daventry District Council for a major mixed use development in the town centre.
Referred to as town centre vision sites 3 and 6, the development includes up to 300 new homes, a new college, primary healthcare facilities and replacement accommodation for the Phoenix Youth Centre. It also comprises new offices, a hotel, and cafés surrounding a new water space in the heart of the town.
Proposed on land to the north of Daventry town centre, the scheme is intended to complement the nearby iCon Environmental Innovation Centre, which opened for business in May. It is planned to support the long-term growth of the town, providing new housing, community infrastructure, commercial and leisure facilities.
Details of the planning application can be viewed at WNDC’s offices in Northampton or by using its online search planning applications function and entering the application reference 11/0040/OUTWND.
The application is being subject to public consultation and responses should be made directly to WNDC by 9th June 2011. Comments can be submitted via the link above or by writing to the Planning Department, PO Box 662, Franklin’s Gardens, Northampton, NN5 5WU.
