Local community to celebrate Daventry’s new landmark

18
May

Starting on Saturday 21st May, the iCon Environmental Innovation Centre is playing host to a week of diverse community events, covering everything from classical music to martial arts. With free public tours throughout the week, there’s also a chance for local people to look around the building and discover the design and technology that makes it such an environmentally friendly building.

The award winning iCon Environmental Innovation Centre will be home to some of the UK’s greenest and most cutting edge businesses. It provides office accommodation and support to businesses that are involved in low carbon construction and environmental technologies. The building also includes a café, exhibition space, and an auditorium for 300 people, which is available for conferences and other events.

John Liddle, Director of the iCon said: “the iCon is a new local landmark that is attracting jobs to Daventry. We’ve already had a lot of interest from businesses who want to be based there, and a number of tenants have committed to move in this month.

“Now that we’re open for business, we wanted to give local people the chance to visit and understand the building and celebrate its opening. The week of events will have something for everyone, ranging from art exhibitions to concerts, and we expect visitors will be as excited about the centre as we are.”
