The waterside in Northampton town centre has long been neglected, under-developed and inaccessible to local people. However, along the river corridor there are a number of exciting opportunities for new jobs, homes and leisure attractions that are coming forward with WNDC’s intervention.

Successful redevelopment of the Waterside will transform the image of Northampton and provide new facilities for local people. Working with our partners, WNDC is developing a master-plan for 90,000 sq m of high quality mixed use development in the area. The Corporation has commenced a number of strategic land acquisitions to make this vision a reality. This includes the former United Social Club on Green St, which was demolished in February 2010 to make way for a fresh future for Northampton’s waterside.
