Plans for 1,000 new homes at Monksmoor Farm, Welton Lane, in Daventry were granted planning permission in April 2010 by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government.
Planning applications for three separate sustainable urban extensions in Daventry were submitted to WNDC in 2007, collectively proposing over 10,000 new homes. In 2008, appeals were submitted against non-determination of these proposals and a public inquiry has taken place.
The Secretary of State has agreed with WNDC and the Planning Inspectors regarding the Monksmoor appeal, which will deliver 1,000 high quality new homes, while securing around £15m in developer contributions to infrastructure.
