In 2006, WNDC invested £1.4 million in the development of Northampton’s cultural attractions. This included support for a multi-million pound refurbishment of the Royal and Derngate theatre.

Now complete, the refurbishment has created a first class attraction, with a high quality and contemporary design. WNDC’s funding not only helped with the re-development of the theatre but also enabled the Royal and Derngate to take theatre productions out into the wider community.
