In 2006, WNDC invested £1.4 million in the development of Northampton’s cultural attractions. This included support for new visitor’s facilities at 78 Derngate, the internationally renowned Charles Rennie Mackintosh designed house in the centre of Northampton.
The house at 78 Derngate is an excellent example of iconic modernist design. Following the provision of improved visitor’s facilities it has become a real success story and in 2009 it won the Enjoy England Excellence Award for Best Small Visitor Attraction.
