Carlsberg UK is leading the first new development in the Northampton Waterside Enterprise Zone. WNDC approved plans for a £25m bottling plant in February 2012 and work on site started shortly afterwards in April.

The British arm of the world’s fourth largest brewer is constructing the 7,000 sq m bottling plant next to their UK headquarters alongside the River Nene. The scheme, which will create up to 60 new jobs, includes related offices and covered car parking.

Construction of the new bottling plant follows the completion of a £40 million development of Carlsberg UK’s  site in October 2011. The scheme saw brewing capacity increase, a third canning line installed and the introduction of an environmental programme to reduce energy consumption and waste.
