The icon will be new landmark for the town of Daventry and an international beacon for sustainable construction.

The Building will provide over 60 offices for small businesses in the emerging market of sustainable construction, together with conference facilities, support and advice.

The £8.5 million building has been designed to achieve an ‘excellent’ rating from BREEAM, a worldwide environmental assessment method. As well as playing home to a diverse range of innovative, green businesses, the iCon will be a leading example of energy-efficiency and sustainability in its own right.

It has been funded by WNDC, Northamptonshire Enterprise Limited, the European Regional Development Fund and the East Midlands Development Agency. The building is scheduled to be open in the summer of 2011.
