WNDC submits its future delivery plans to government
WNDC has identified a new way forward for the future delivery of
new homes, jobs and investment across Northampton, Daventry and
Towcester.
The government is currently reviewing the three Urban
Development Corporations it established 5 years ago to deliver
growth and regeneration in London, Thurrock, and West
Northamptonshire.
A public consultation has been held as part of this review, and
WNDC has submitted its response, highlighting its achievements to
date, as well as its exciting delivery plans for the next 5
years.
Over the past 5 years, WNDC has given planning approval for
nearly 5,000 new homes and 400,000 m² of commercial development
while securing over £31m in s106 contributions.
It has also invested around £60m in infrastructure to deliver
new homes and jobs, supporting projects ranging from new roads in
Northampton to the under construction Daventry iCon centre for
sustainable construction.
WNDC’s future plans for delivery will see the continued growth
and regeneration of the area, working as a powerful, well focused
delivery vehicle designed to benefit both the existing and future
communities of Northampton, Daventry and Towcester.
The government will be announcing the results of the
Quinquennial Review later in the year. A copy of WNDC’s response
